Invoice Machine slideshow rocks

The “ticket stub” looking interface makes it hard to miss those arrows. Too many slide shows have hidden arrows until you hover on them, making it imparitive to mouse around to discover them. Bad form. Some implementations of the arrows show them outside of the image, making it an afterthought to the image in plain view. Others show them on top of the image, obstructing the view. But these guys split the uprights, showing the arrows on the edge of the image.

This implementation takes no time to realize it’s one image of a series. And the numbers (1, 2) in the bottom right corner are also a dead giveaway.

Don’t hide functionality, but keep it out of the way. Notice there is plenty of white-space around the widget and the frame. Good stuff, and well done Invoice Machine!

Rumplo non-disruptive login

As I click “Add to Faves” on Rumplo, I’m prompted for my username and password to complete the task. A reasonable request, I’ve got to be signed in so it’s recorded.

One complaint I have with many sites is the jarring disruption to the user flow. I don’t want to go to a separate sign in page, for fear of losing my place and having to jump through history to regain my place.

Rumplo does a great job of making the sign in process seamless. The Sign In widget pops up upon clicking, and one more click and I’ve signed in, and faved the Tshirt I was looking at.

Aaahh, such a delightful experience. Thank you, Rumplo!
